Weapons Policy
Rules for cosplay props, replicas and weapons at Fanova
Violating this policy may result in immediate removal from the venue without ticket refund. The safety of all visitors is our top priority.
1. Real weapons — prohibited
Real weapons — including knives, swords, firearms (even without ammunition), airsoft replicas exceeding 0.5 joule, and explosive devices — are strictly prohibited.
2. Permitted cosplay props & replicas
Cosplay props and replica weapons are welcome at Fanova, provided all of the following conditions are met:
- The prop is clearly non-functional and cannot cause injury
- Bladed props (swords, daggers) are made of soft/safe materials (EVA foam, rubber, plastic) or have a fixed sheath and may not be drawn
- Shooting or projectile-related props are not permitted, even if designed as a prop
- All props are registered at the entrance (peace bonding): a clearly visible tag or label is attached
- Carrying props that obstruct passage or could injure other visitors is not permitted
- The total length of a prop may not exceed 150 cm
- Metal props must be assessed by the safety officer at the entrance
3. Peace bonding
All cosplay props and replica weapons are checked upon arrival by our security staff at the entrance. Approved props receive a peace bond tag: a coloured tag showing that the item has been checked and approved.
Props without a peace bond may not be carried on site. The peace bond may not be removed during the event.
4. Final decision
The final decision on the admissibility of a prop or cosplay item rests with Fanova's safety officers. Their decision is binding and not open to discussion on site.
If in doubt, you can contact us in advance at info@fanova.be with a photo of your prop.
5. Liability
Fanova is not liable for incidents or damage resulting from non-compliance with this policy. Visitors who violate this policy will be removed from the venue without entitlement to a refund.
